Getting therePlane
|
By AirWith Khao Lak lying just 80 kilometer north of Phuket International Airport and only 60 kilometers east of the Similan Islands, getting here couldn't be any easier. Phuket has about a dozen daily flights from Bangkok and several other cities in Thailand, as well as links to major cities in Europe and Asia. At the Airport, just grab a Limousine for about 2500 Baht, or arrange a pick-up with your Hotel in advance. this pick-up service will generally be free of charge at a major hotel, but set you back only about 800 Baht when booking with a small bungalow resort.. By TrainAlthough the nearest train station in Surat Thani is a couple of hundred Kilometers away, some travelers choose to make the comfortable journey. On arrival in Surat Thani, any Phuket bound bus passes through Khao Lak. Just tell the conductor where you want to get dropped. |
By BusSeveral daily buses depart every Afternoon from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok to Takua Pa and Phang Nga. Theses are overnight trips and arrive early morning. On arrival, they are met by several Taxis and Buses for the short trip to Khao Lak Beach, By CarGetting out of the city of Bangkok is a bit of a bitch, but once you find an entrance to any expressway, follow the signs to "Chaeng Wattana", which is the Western end of the Expressway System. Now follow the signs to "Petchburi", and then "Chumporn". Here you will make a right turn to "Ranong" and just keep going straight for Phuket. Khao Lak and Bang Niang beaches are about 35 kilometers behing the town of "Takua Pa", or 100 kilometer before Phuket island. |
