Diving

Khao Lak first became known as a convenient jumping-off point to the world famous Similan Islands, rated as one of the worlds top ten diving destinations ! No one traveler is ever likely to have visited Khao Lak, that hasn't made at least one trip to the nine islands about 80 kilometers off the coast of Khao Lak. In fact, most people keep on returning to this fabulous destination for years !

Because Khao Lak is much closer to the Similans than Phuket, traveling from here is more and convenient and also cheaper.

Trekking

The hinterland of Khao Lak is dotted with dozens of waterfalls that are all within a short motorcycle ride away from the beaches. The further away you go, the more mountainous and rugged the landscape becomes. For the more physical of the travelers, here is a virtual Shangri La for mountain bikers.

And then there is Khao Sok, long since a unique travel destination in it's own right. One of the highest mountains in Thailand's south, this area also has a quaint freshwater lake that is home to some unique underwater flora and fauna.
